Wood County is home to some of the finest lakes in
the nation.
Lake Fork is one of the top trophy largemouth bass lakes in the nation. It
is Wood County's largest lake at 27,690 acres.
It has produced the current state record largemouth bass in the state,
weighing in at 18.18 pounds. Of all record largemouth bass caught in Texas, 37 of the top 50 have been caught out of Lake Fork.
Known for producing most of the record largemouth bass in Texas, it is definitely a fisherman's
paradise! Out of 341 entries to the Texas
Parks and Wildlife Share Lunker Program (13lbs or greater), 233 have come from Lake Fork!

Lake Winnsboro is the second largest lake in Wood County
and is a fine recreational lake.
Lake Quitman, Lake Hawkins

of Fame and Museum is

in Quitman. The park is a relaxing place to spend the day with picnic
tables, plenty of shade and children's play area. The Light Crust
Doughboys Hall of Fame and Museum pays tribute to the oldest performing
country band in the nation. With over 75 years of history, the
inventors of Texas Swing are honored with photographs, memorabilia, costumes and
awards that span their years of performing. Museum hours are 9am to

Mineola Nature Preserve on The Sabine River is located South of Mineola on CR 2724 on approximately 3000 acres. The pristine East Texas flora and fauna to
